Computers and the Successful Dental
Practice
Friday, February 15, 2013
San Leandro Main Library; 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
Like it
or not, the success of your dental practice is now largely
dependent on your effective use of computers. The good news is
that this course, for dentists and staff, shows you how to get
the benefits while spending little or no money. This very
fast-paced 4 ½ hour presentation covers lots of topics without
wasting your time or trying to sell you anything! The
objective is to improve both your practice and the quality of
your patient care.
Course Topics:
·
Paperless Dentistry
– The easiest, most effective way to do it … for free and
without buying new software or any new computers; decrease
your time while improving the quality of your recordkeeping.
·
Practice Building –
Many practices now see most of their new patients coming from
Internet sources such as Google and Yelp. But how do you get
to be top-rated on Google or Yelp without spending any money?
And if you do spend money, are you really getting
anything for it? How do
you handle a “bad” review?
The Black Art of Search Engine Optimization for
dentists … revealed!
·
“Reputation Management”
– This is the hot new term for something that has always been
important for a successful dental practice. But computers now
greatly magnify this benefit – when used correctly.
·
Operatory Computers
– When, where and how, including information about notebook
computers and wireless computer networks.
·
Facebook and Twitter
– You may think you’re an interesting person but, really, why
would a patient want to follow you on Facebook? There is
actually a pretty good reason that dentists don’t seem to know
about. How can social media benefit both your patients and
your practice?
·
“Bullet-Proofing” Your
Computers – Some simple things to keep your computer
system running smoothly.
·
Data Backup – It
has been estimated that only half of dental offices have
adequate data backup. The days of disks, tapes and external
hard drives are over but automated, tested data backup is more
important than ever. If your server failed or your office
burned to the ground, how can you get all your records back in
less than an hour?
There are several easy, inexpensive options.
·
California and 2012
Federal HIPPA Requirements for Dental Computing – You may
be surprised and you may be breaking the law!
